Central Region is a land of civilization originating from the pre-historic era and had been developing continuously till Ayutthaya and Ratanakosin periods. Besides being the country's most fertile land on rice growing, the central region is also famous for its tourist attraction places, which are lied prominently on natural resources and the historic ancient remains. The prior mentioned is thick forests, high falls, caves and sea beaches, while the later is ancient ruin temples or palaces, historical places etc. In addition, central region is also the center of national communications, thus, causing it a center of tourism, which is to be decentralized to other regions too.
Central Region consists of 22 provinces(Changwats): Ang Thong, Bangkok, Chachoengsao, Chai Nat, Kanchanaburi, Lop Buri, Nakhon Nayok, Nakhon Pathom, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Phetchaburi, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Prachinburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Ratchaburi, Sakaeo, Samut Prakan, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Saraburi, Sing Buri and Suphan Buri, which are located in a fertile basin having most rice farming and regarded as a rice bowl of the country.

At about 10 million people, Bangkok is one of the largest cities in the world and some say you can spend a lifetime in Bangkok and still never know the entire city. With 5o districts or Khets under Bangkok. Ayutthaya, located some 86Km north of Bangkok offers an insight into Thailand of the past with many fine temples and two museums.
The Eastern Seaboard in Chonburi province has coral islands, beautiful beaches, excellent sports facilities, and a wealth of tourist attractions, most of which are located at Pattaya or Rayong. Further along the coast are the towns of Chantaburi and Trat with secluded beaches with white sands and clear waters. For the more adventuresome it is possible to take a side trip into Cambodia.
To the west of Bangkok is Kanchanaburi the site of the infamous Death Railway of WW II. The Erawan National Park is within easy reach of Kanchanaburi or the more adventurous may prefer a rafting trip on the nearby Mae Khlong River.
If sun and sand is on your itinerary then the beach resorts of Cha Am and Hua Hin are located to the south-west of Bangkok. To getting there you can take the local train it's will take 4 hrs. a little bit long trip but you will see the more view on the way and more interesting for your next destination but if you want a short trip by the Mini Van that is good value just for 2.30 hrs. It's depart every hours from the Victory Monument of Bangkok.
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Wooden canoes laden with multicolored fruits and vegetables, paddled by Thai women wearing indigo-hued clothes and wide-brimmed straw hats – this quintessential picture of Thailand might have wooed you to my country but this image over 20 years old and is more a piece of history than a current snapshot. An updated version would show rows and rows of souvenir stands lining the canals, and boatloads of tourists glued to their cameras.

Regular visitors to Asia know that, in many ways, Bangkok beats Hong Kong and Singapore for good deals on handicrafts, taxtiles, gems, jewellery, art and antiques – nowhere else will you find the same quality, prices and selection. The difficulty is finding the good spots, as the city's intense urban tangle makes orientation sometimes difficult. Phenomenal bargains can be found at the city's endless variety of markets. Most are an odd assortment of plastic toys, household goods and polyester clothes in Asian sizes mixed with knock-off designer watches and bags. Even more interesting are the food markets, where food-savvy Thais forage for brightly colored tapioca desserts, spicy curries and fruit that look like medieval torture devices.
Getting around Bangkok
Getting around Bangkok may be difficult at first for the uninitiated but once you're familiar with the bus system the whole city is accessible. The main obstacle is the traffic, which moves at a snail's pace during much of the day. This means advance planning is a must when you are attending scheduled events or arranging appointments. If you travel can by river, canal or Skytrain from one point to another, it's always the best choice.

Wat Phra Kaew & Grand Palace
Also called the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Phra Kaew is an architectural wonder of gleaming, gilded chedi (stupa) seemingly buoyed above the ground, polished orange-and-green roof tiles piercing the humid sky, mosaic-encrusted pillars and rich marble pediments. The highly stylized ornamentation is a shrine to the much revered Emerald Buddha. Such a sacred site is bestowed with a fittingly official name-Wat Phra Si Ratana Satsadaram. It adjoins the former residence of the monarch, the Grand Palace; Admission to both 200 Baht; open 8.30am-11.30am & 1.00pm-3.30pm; daily.
